FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Are there any prerequisites for the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT 200)?

Only a passion for learning more about yoga. Experience on the mat helps, however, we start with the basics. This makes the program accessible to everyone.

Is my age a concern? Am I too young or too old to take the YTT 200?

We do have a minimum age of 16 years, but there is no maximum. I have personally certified an 82-year-old teacher. Yoga is designed for everyone to enjoy and receive the benefits.

I am not able to do certain asanas (poses) because of a physical or health challenge. Is this an issue or can I still complete the YTT 200?

Everyone is invited to explore yoga and to teach within their comfort level and personal abilities. In order to be a yoga teacher, it is not necessary to master challenging asanas such as balancing on your forearms or placing your feet behind your head.

Can I take the program even if I don’t want to be a teacher?

YES! Not everyone wishes to teach, and that is just fine. Attending a YTT 200 program is a great way to deepen and explore your own personal practice.
